Evgenia Citkowitz is an American playwright, journalist and author best known as the celebrity wife of accomplished English actor Julian Sands. Sands was a celebrated English actor known for his breakout roles in films and TV series like A Room with a View (1985), Warlock (1989), Naked Lunch and more.

Unfortunately, Evgenia’s husband went missing during a hiking trip and was declared dead after his skeletal remains were identified after being found in January 2023. Citkowitz and Julian were married for close to thirty years before Julian’s untimely death.

Citkowitz was born in the upper suburbs of New York City.

She grew up as the youngest child in a family of two kids. Her father was a famous composer and piano teacher who inspired her creativity from a young age. However, Evgenia grew up with her mother and sisters after her parents divorced. She finished her high school education at St Paul’s Girls’ School in Hammersmith.
